Wow! What a win on Sunday against the Wigan team at the DW Stadium. We were very pleased with the performance and how we played and we got the win, which is something we really wanted. Also, it delays Wigan lifting the league leaders’ shield, which is good.

REARRANGEMENT OF TESTIMONIAL MATCH...

Eorl Crabtree’s Testimonial Match, which was postponed due to adverse weather conditions on Sunday 10th January, will now take place at the start of the 2011 season.

Eorl Crabtree’s Testimonial Match, which was postponed due to adverse weather conditions on Sunday 10th January, will now take place at the start of the 2011 season.

Because Huddersfield Giants and opponents Halifax have fixture and training camp commitments through to the start of 2010 league campaign, a suitable rearrangement date cannot be found.

The RFL have therefore given special permission for Eorl’s Testimonial match to be staged in January 2011, more than a month after the official conclusion of his celebration events programme.

This dispensation is based on the exceptional weather disruption, the Giants having no conflicting Testimonial in 2011 and Eorl being contracted to the Giants until 2015.

Testimonial Chairman Brian Blacker commented: “The postponement was a major blow having generated tremendous interest in hospitality and publicity. However, the Giants have been very supportive in our application to the RFL for a short extension to the Testimonial celebrations.

“Testimonial supporters who booked hospitality are having their money refunded and we will re-launch the Testimonial match sales campaign towards the end of this coming season once a January 2011 match date has been confirmed.”
